Representatives from ABOTA will be discussing "Civility Matters." In furtherance of the goal of elevating standards of civility and professionalism, several years ago ABOTA developed a program called Civility Matters. Since its development the program has expanded and flourished both locally and nationally and we have been joined in our efforts by JAMS, The American Inns of Court, and other specialty bar associations. It is designed not only to teach young lawyers, but also to remind older lawyers, of the importance of civility and professionalism in the practice of law. The program is a multi-media one which includes videos, voicemails, and vignettes of lawyers behaving badly, and a panel of experienced lawyers and judges. Mr. Carlton will be discussing  "The Common Challenges of Legal Practice."  His presentation will cover substance abuse, mental health, and stress challenges commonly encountered by legal professionals and the resources available to address these problems.
