NCBA May 22, 2009 Meeting
Please join the Napa County Bar Association in hearing Professor Roger Bernhardt discuss California's Incomprehensible One Action and Anti-Deficiency Rules at Uva Trattoria on May 22, 2009, 12 p.m.
Professor Bernhardt is the author of CEB's California Mortgage and Deed of Trust Practice, as well as a sitting professor at Golden Gate University, where he teaches a variety of subjects, including Real Property, Real Estate Finance, UCC, Land Use, and Federal Income Tax.

Please join the Napa County Women Lawyer's Association on May 20, 2009, at 12 p.m., Uva Trattoria, to hearfrom Dr. Lawrence M. Elson, a leading clinical and forensic anatomist. Dr. Elson has served as an instructor in human anatomy at the City College of San Francisco, an assistant professor of anatomy at Baylor College of Medicine, and as a lecturer at numerous additional universities and professional organizations. He is theauthor/co-author of the Anatomy Coloring Book, Human Brain Coloring Book, Zoology Coloring Book, and Microbiolody Coloring Book. Presently, he is principally functioning as a clinical and forensic anatomist retianed as a consultant to governments, provinces, insurance and other corporations, and law firms on causation of injury issues in cases in or anticipated to be involved in litigation.

Legal Aid Seminar - 5/14/09
Join Prescott Cole to learn more about recent developments in California's financial elder abuse statutes and to discuss the growing abuses in the reverse mortgage market. Mr. Cole will discuss new legislation that will subject predators to treble damages, attorneys' fees, and costs when they engage in financial scams against seniors, and he will discuss changes to the burden of proof, the new attachment act that allows elder victims to freeze defendants' assets and the introduction of undue influence as part of the Elder and Dependent Adult Civil Protection Act.
From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Jury Assembly Room, Napa Historic Courthouse. Cost is $40 (includes materials and your lunch). 2 hours MCLE provided.
